Hacking

Hacking is the bypassing security measures in a website/program and screwing around with the behind the scenes code. It allows someone to change around another person's creation as they wish. This affects the web designer in number of ways. It makes the web designer have to put better and stronger security measures in the coding/website to prevent hackers from geting in, who are updating their techniques all of the time. It also makes the web designer have to be vigilant over their web page, as to make sure it is not being hacked or altered in any way.
Hacking also affects the user a bit. It can be used to steal user information, which can be harmful in a number of ways. I believe that hacking is a very harmful thing. It is used to give one person power over any technology they wish, but commonly only for their enjoyment. It endangers the entire future of the internet, being a threat to take down whatever is created on the internet. I believe that hacking is a dangerous thing that will never stop being a problem.

Deterioration of Quality

I have been very dissapointed lately about the quality of games being made. I have seen way too many mistakes that are very obvious and a team of game programmers with all the funding in the world should have fixed either before or after its release. Halo Reach has had alot of balancing issues, since all of the maps that are played on online are ones made with forge, and some very unfair weapons are on some maps were they would give massive advantages over all other players. Roblox, a game i recently started playing again, has given complete power over to the players, with giving them console commands to games just for having bought a shirt for alot of in game or real world money, which since most of the players are young kids, causes absolute chaos and abuse of powers. These are only two examples of what ive recently seen as a slow deterioration of quality with what used to be an area were quality was a demand.

The quality and mistakes of these games are unacceptable, and it just makes me want to get into game programming more. I want to make a game that puts the rest of these to shame, were the problems of the player are truely treated as if they were the problems of the creator. I want to restore quality to games and set the bar higher to were it was and always should be. I cannot wait to start, because I want to really change this aspect of the world that I love so much. I will restore the respect for the games in themselves.

Apple Vs. PC

I am personally a PC fan. I find the PC is easyer to use then a mac. Macs seem to be much faster then PC's, but they have features that are designed to not  be copying PC, so they are not all designed to be useful or convenient. Windows is slower, but it is more organized with its windows and doesnt have as many problems as the mac seems to push that it does. I also like windows because majority of computer programs and games are designed to be used on windows.
I like the PC because it is more open to be used. A PC has a customizeable desktop in which you can organize files. Mac only has set ways to access your files, through the exact same files listed on the top or at the bottom of the screen. The biggest feature of mac seems to be that it has obvious much greater graphical capabilities, with the most basic functions as minimizing a screen as stretching it down into a folder. I really cant find a good reason for these graphics though, except for watching videos and playing games, so the graphics of a mac arent very impressive to me. I like a PC because its practical, convenient, and easy to use, were mac just doesnt have any peticular features that a PC doesnt.

Mark Zuckerberg

I believe that Mark Zuckerberg is a very intereting character. He is the worlds youngest billionaire, created a website used by almost everyone, and is still practically fresh out of college. Even though this makes him sound very intelligent, I cant help but feel that facebook's popularity was just luck for him. His website is very slow, and ive seen people get angry with changes made to it very often. He just seems very interesting to me.

Mark seems to have alot of controversy surrounding him. Right off the bat, he has a lawsuit with 3 other people from his college against him over facebook. It seems strange that he would so quickly have a lawsuit over facebook. Also, he even has a movie about these lawsuits already out about him, which has many elements that are obviously added just for a better story. The most shocking thing about him to me is his comment about not believing in privacy, in response to people's anger about him giving less control to people over their own information. The reason why this comment shocks me so much is because when facebook was first being heard of, the only description ive ever heard about it was taht it was "like myspace, but with more privacy", which clearly shows that he doesnt even understand why his website became popular in the first place. I find Mark an interesting character, and im weary about thinking of him too highly.

Favorite and worst logos

Worst:

Favorite:

These are my favorite and least favorite logos. My favorite logo has a clear picture of an iceberg and what its underwater half, were the other logo doesnt have any clear image or representation of any kind. My favorite logo uses only 4 different, very similar colors, were the other logo uses 4 very different, contrasting colors, making it ugly to the eye. My favorite logo has a clean, circular shape, which is only broken neatly in one spot, were the other logo has a distorted square shape-feel, making it not as comfortable of an image. My favorite logo also uses every color within the circle with the image, were the other logo has alot of white areas, making it look very broken apart and messy. My favorite logo has an overall more put together structure then my least favorite logo.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer

Im syked that assassins creed brotherhood is out. I already pre ordered it, and im going to pick it up sometime soon. I cannot wait to see what the game is like to be able to play with other people, instead of just always solo player. When first play online, though, i will have to be careful, becase every single kid i have asked about it said that they were going to assassinate everyone else, so first few days will be fun and crazy to play with other people. I have been waiting for this too come out for months now, and I cant wait to start playing.
Multiplayer is a big step in a game, but it always depends on how it is implemented into the game. I hope that they dont screw up like many other game's first times with multiplayer, like making the game dependent on the person playing with others, robing the player of the true freedom that is prominant in a game like assassin's creed. Playing with others is always fun, and if they make it fully optional to play with others to complete the game, and give the players the ability to use their companions to their advantage, then the game will be awsome. If they make the game so that some missions are required or necessary to have other's help, or if it sets up the environment so that many people would be required to do little stupid simple things, then the game will turn out bad. The best way that i can imagine them using the multiplayer to make the game better is to add abilities to do things like, say, one assassin being able to lift another one in the air after a runing start, using teamwork to get one person to a higher area they would not have been able to get to easily. The game will be awsome if they give the player's abilities to help and interact with one another, but it will be bad if they underuse or overpush the use of multiple players.
The game should still be awsome forgetting about multiplayer. Assassin's creed has always been an awsome game, so it will be exciting to see new features and things to do, upgrading it from its two past games. I also cant wait to see the continuation of the story from the previous game, hopefully being able to play a little more as desmond, the character who is seeing the assassins in the past.

Red Ribon

Red Robin has a very good website. It uses the color red for everything because red makes people hungry. Everything someone would be looking for is at the very top and in the perfect text size so that people would see it emidietly if they were looking. The images re the perfect size, taking up enough space to be noticed, but not enough to crowd the site, and multiple ones cycle in the same spot. the site is also decorated with boxes with uneven lines, giving it a funer feeling, while not making the attempt obvious. the site uses many smart decorative techniques that make the site inviting and fun.

Red Robin has alot of good features, but a few bad. It's smaller, but vital, site links at the bottom are cut off by part of the site. Linking to Red Robin through other mediums like twitter is at the very top, making people more aware of these things. The site's links are conveniently placed, but there are not many, making the site feel a little small. Red Robin is a very innovative website, but it is plagued by a few mistakes.

Beutiful Photograph

one of my fav photographs is this: http://nocturnalmoth.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1a3x0h

I really like it because the expressions on the egg's faces match perfectly their situation. You can feel exactly what they are being depicted as feeling. I also like how the eggs have different faces, giving each one its own personality, like one that would be in shock and another that would be terrified. I also love the use of humor in the photo, making as funny as it is appealing to the eye. The expressions also give the picture a realistic feel, because one egg is staring in terror at the fork while another is screaming and looking at the broken egg next to it, which shows interaction between the environment and the eggs. I love this picture because the egg's expressions are extremely realistic.
I also love this picture because of the detail put into it. The knife with some egg wiped on the tip on the side is a very nice touch to the photo. The blurriness of the fork at the very top shows the impending danger of it. The splash of egg on one of the eggs makes the photo very realistic. The detail gives this photograph so much more life then the picture itself.

College

I dont think i would want to go to a school for web design because i dont want being a web designer as my career. I wouldnt want to choose any of the careers the speaker talked about because the last thing i ever want to do is go into a field that focuses on visual art of any kind. I do balieve these are lucrative careers because there is so much demand for the work people with these career choices can do. I dont want any of these careers because i hate drawing and any other kind of picture creation.

Adobe Photoshop

I think that adobe photoshop is pretty useful because it has many tools and you can create layers and shapes and even merge them, so it is very useful for creating and editing a website. I dont like how it is so complicated to use though, like how figuring out how to change the color of a shape is so hard to figure out. The complication isnt so bad though once you get the hang of it.
I think it is so popular because it is definetly a very useful for creating and designing a web page.
I think over time using it will become easier to use, but for now it is difficult to use.

School Laptops

Our school is implementing a new program next year in which every student will be given a laptop, who will probably have to pay for their own laptops. I really dont have much of an opinion about this program i regret to say. The only news ive heard about this is that we will be geting laptops, but i dont know how the laptops wil be used with classes, how they will be payed for, or any information at all about how the school will function with these. I think it is a good idea if they have figured out a way to monitor kids in class to see what they are doing on their laptops, and doing their work instead of playing games, like mybe blocking certain websites using the school routers themselves, or the way Mr. Murphy has set up his computer so he can see the screens of everyone in class. I really cant say to much about who should pay for the laptops because I dont know how much they will cost, but I wouldnt imagine much so I predict it will be on the students to pay for their laptops. I think that this program is a very good idea if teachers have figured out ways to use it to enhance student's learning experience, but I really cant imagine any logical reason of why the laptops will help any more then the computer labs already do. Computer classes have classrooms with computers and other classrooms have computer rooms to use, so I really dont see how the laptops are necessary. It sounds like a great idea to give every student a laptop, but i have no idea how the laptops are going to help teachers do their jobs any better.

My Weekend

My weekend was pretty fun because i found a new game. I started playing a game called Minecraft because my Halo Reach keeps disconnecting me from xbox live. I had alot of fun because minecraft lets you build things, so i never ran out of things to do. I was also working on my project all weekend, mainly supervising my teammates to make sure they are doing their work because myn was already done by saterday. Overall my weekend was pretty busy and fun, so it was a good weekend.

Bungie Reach Website

I love the design of the Bungie Halo Reach website. It has a very cool picture of a planet in the background that uses colors that perfectly interact with one another. The menu is easily noticeable and has a tag for anything you would look for. It has an area that is used for showing all of the latest news of their game. I love how it has an entire section of menu devoted to linking to different categories of images. The website is very easy to use and to navigate. I love how they have separate menus for their game, and for their website itself.

My History with the Internet

My first memory of the internet is playing a really stupid game and looking up information for games I played. The first game I played was a game were you were swimming in a pool, with people walking around the top of it, and you had to fart bubbles up to them to kill them. I would look up cheats for pokemon, like how to duplicate pokemon that I had. I would also use it to look up walkthroughs to help me get through parts of my games that I had trouble geting through. My first memory of the internet was using it for games.
I use the internet differently then I do now. I used to use the internet for helping me get through parts in my games I had trouble geting past. Now I use it for playing games online with other people. I also use the internet to research information for research papers in school. The way I have used the internet in the past is very different from how I use it now.
I will probably use the internet very differently in the future. I will use the internet to help me file my taxes. I will use it to order things to be delivered to my house. I will use it to make my own website and host games i create. I will be using the internet very differently then i do now.

Borderlands

A game i have had a fascination with is Borderlands. It is the first of its kind, a game that incorporated the online multiplayer RPGs and a first person shooter. It was a fantastic mix, because it could attract both people who love to play RPGs and people who love to play first person shooters. They managed to incorporate many of the elements in RPGs into a first person shooter. One was, like the armor you colect and switch out with all the time in RPGs, shields, which you find various versions of with different capacities and abilities. Another was the weapons, which to do they made a huge range of different types of weapons you could find, because every time your about to find a gun, it will be randomly generated with a number of different gun parts, features, and every statistic, so to obtain good weapons you will have to look for one, just like in a RPG. The third similarity is the skills, which in borderlands is the special ability of the character you chose. Each of the four characters has a different ability, like to drop a shielded turret, or to throw a flaming attack bird, and as you level up you gain points to spend on different abilities which affect your gameplay, whether it be to increase your gun's fire rate, or to increase the damage of your turret.
The beuty of Borderlands is taht it is the first of its kind, so what it is now is only a preview into what it will be, and what other games will be. Borderlands is only the start, so the future looks good.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog. This blog is going to be about video games. I will be posting news on the gaming world and my own experiences in gaming, discussing various topics related to the subject. I will be discussing things like new games, how people play online, and how i have been playing online.

This was a convenient time for a blog on games, because it is one day after video game history: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/splash/h/haloreach/?WT.srch=1&WT.srch=1
